CONSTITUTION


Article I - Name

This organization shall be known as the "Space Coast Cat Club."

Article II - Affiliation

This organization shall be a non-profit club affiliated with The Cat Fanciers Association, Inc. No part of any profit, dues, or donations to the organization shall be used to the benefit of any member or individual.

Article III - Objectives

The objectives of this organization shall be:

  1. To promote the welfare of all cats,
  2. To promote the breeding of pedigreed cats to the standards as accepted by the CFA,
  3. To sponsor cat shows and exhibits,
  4. To promote sportsmanship and friendship among cat fanciers.

Article IV - Membership

Persons interested in the objectives of this organization shall be eligible for membership.

Article V - Officers

The officers of this organization shall be a president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer.

Article VI - Meetings

Most meetings are held per internet e-mails, other meetings are held at shows and snail mail for those not on internet.

Article VII - Dues

Annual dues shall be payable on June 1st, 1999. The amount of dues shall be provided for in the By-Laws.

Article VIII - Dissolution

In the event of the dissolution of this organization, any property and assets shall be distributed to a non-profit organization consistent with the policy of The Cat Fanciers' Association, Inc. In no event shall any such property or assets be distributed to any member of the organization, or to any private individual.

Article IX - Amendments

This constitution and the accompanying By-Laws may be amended by having a quorum vote at any regular meeting of the organization, provided that the text of the amendment shall have been sent to all members two weeks prior to the meeting.

Article X - National Affiliation

The club shall be a member of "Cat Fanciers Association, Inc." and shall take all steps to preserve it's status as a member of association ( and any regional establishment thereof) in good standing at all times.   Any shows conducted or other activities engaged in by the club shall be in full accordance with the rules and regulations of such association.

 

 

BY - LAWS


 

Article I - Membership

Section A. Membership

Membership is open to individuals interested in the objectives of the organization, and able to participate in organization activities. Members have all privileges of membership including the right to vote. All members are expected to help put on all shows.

Section B - Application for membership

Application for membership must be made in writing and be accompanied by a check for $50.00. It must be sent to the secretary and voted on.

Section C - Renewing Membership

Each member must visit two other members catteries and allow two other members to visit their cattery.  This must be done every year starting June 1999 to June 2000.  Years run June to June.  No dues will be excepted from any member that has not visited two other members catteries or has not allowed two other members to visit their cattery.

Section D - Fringe Benefit

Any member helping set-up three shows and in good standing with renewing membership Section C and dues paid will receive 50% off all show entries, grooming spaces, double cages, vendor space & advertising at there forth show.

Article II - Meetings

Section A - Meetings

Discussions at shows, snail mail and weekly e-mails keep all members updated and voting is all done mainly by e-mail with only a couple verbal that aren’t on line.

Section B - Quorum

Two thirds of the members and three officers shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business.

Article III - Elections

Section A - Officers

The officers, will stay as they are originally set unless one decides to resign.

Section B - Delegate

The delegate to The Cat Fanciers' Association, Inc. annual meeting will be the club secretary, if they are not able to go another person will be appointed by the club secretary to go in their place.  The club may pay for air and hotel if the club can afford it.

Section C - Vacancy

A vacancy occurring in any office shall be filled by voting per quorum.

Article IV - Duties of Officers

Section A - President

Shall serve as chief executive officer.

Section B - Vice President

Shall perform the duties of the president and secretary in the absence of the president and secretary.

Section C - Secretary

  1. Shall be the recording and corresponding officer,
  2. Shall perform the duties of the president in the absence of the president.
  3. Shall appoint committees as needed.
  4. Shall serve as ex officio member of all committees.
  5. Shall keep records of all meetings.
  6. Shall inform all applicants of election to membership.
  7. Shall serve as the contact person for the CFA.
  8. Shall have custody of all moneys of the organization.
  9. Shall open a bank account in the name of the organization.

 Section D - Treasurer

  1. Shall keep records of all receipts and expenditures, keep cancelled checks and bank statements .
  2. Shall take care of all taxes due each year and all legal matters.
  3. Shall keep all entry information for all entries for each show from all exhibitors.
  4. Shall collect all yearly dues from members.

Article V - Dues

  1. The annual dues of this organization for regular members is $20.
  2. The initiation dues for 1st year membership is $50.00 and $30.00 goes towards 1st shows entries.

Article VI - Discipline

Section A - Enforcement

It shall be the duty of the Officers to enforce the Constitution and By-Laws of this organization. The Officers may reprimand, suspend or expel from membership any person who, after a fair hearing is found guilty of conduct detrimental of harmful to this organization, or the welfare of cats or the cat fancy.

Section B - Procedures

All changes must be made in writing and a copy of the changes shall be furnished to the accused at least thirty (30) days prior to the hearing date. The Officers may conduct a hearing itself or appoint a committee to conduct the hearing. The decision of the majority of the Board or the committee shall be binding on all parties.

Article VII - Amendments

The By-Laws may be amended as provided for in the Constitution.
